Maintenance

Why is lawn maintenance important?

Regular lawn maintenance is essential for keeping your lawn healthy, attractive, and resilient throughout the year.

This includes our personalised programmes of routine mowing, fertilising, weed control, and seasonal treatments to encourage strong root development and dense turf growth, helping your lawn resist weeds, pests and diseases.

We recommend 4-8 weekly recurrent visits to help you meet your lawn desires.

Renovations

Aeration and Topdressing

WHY Lawn Renovations are important

Over time, lawns naturally become compacted, develop excessive thatch, and lose their density and colour. Lawn renovation is a proven process that restores turf health, improves growth, and creates a thicker, more resilient lawn.

Hollow Coring (Core Aeration)

Hollow coring removes small plugs of soil from the lawn, relieving soil compaction and improving the movement of air, water, and nutrients into the root zone. This encourages deeper root development, enhances drainage, and promotes stronger, healthier turf that is better equipped to withstand drought, wear, and disease.

Verticutting / Scarifying

Verticutting and scarifying remove excess thatch, moss, and organic debris that accumulate between the soil surface and grass blades. Reducing this layer improves airflow, water penetration, and nutrient uptake while stimulating new growth. The result is a denser, healthier lawn with improved vigour and appearance.

Topdressing

Topdressing involves applying a carefully selected layer of sand, soil, or a soil blend across the lawn surface. This helps improve soil structure, smooth out uneven areas, enhance drainage, and create an ideal environment for healthy root growth. Topdressing also supports recovery following aeration and scarification.

Overseeding

Overseeding introduces new grass seed into the existing lawn to increase turf density, improve colour, and fill thin or bare areas. It helps rejuvenate tired lawns, enhances resistance to weeds and pests, and can introduce improved grass varieties better suited to local conditions.

The Result

When combined, these renovation practices work together to create a thicker, greener, healthier lawn with stronger roots, improved drainage, greater drought tolerance, and enhanced year-round appearance.

Seeding and Turfing

Seeding

We prefer to seed our lawns on a sandy lawn mix when conditions are appropriate, this ensures a well draining lawn.

Turfing

Laying rolled turf is instant and begins to take root immediately after going to ground in your garden. Grown on a turf farm and cut out the day before, our team will efficiently create the best conditions possible, so your lawn will thrive for years to come.
